  • What does climate controlled at Local Self Storage mean?

    The Local Self Storage building is built with modern, highly efficient heating and air conditioning systems. Maintaining a controlled environment is a great way to protect your belongings from changes in temperature and humidity, preventing warping, cracking, rust and mold from damaging your goods. The enclosed environment at Local Self Storage provides increased protection from dust, dirt and flooding.

  • What type of security is in place at Local Self Storage?

    Local Self Storage has many layers of State of the Art security to give our customers the best protection and peace of mind. Our Storage Solutions consultant can easily provide a full explanation and demonstration when you visit the facility.

  • How do individual locker alarms work and why are they important?

    Each storage locker at Local Self Storage has its own alarm, wired into the overall security and monitoring system. When a customer visits, they enter their own PIN at a keypad, to access the building. The security system then disarms the alarm on the applicable unit associated with that PIN. The customer then proceeds to his or her locker, unlocks their lock and opens their door. The use of keypads to enter provides a detailed record of who has visited the building and when.

  • What sizes of storage unit are available?

    We offer a wide range of sizes to best suit your needs. Sizes range from 5x5 ft (25 sf) to 20x23 ft (460 sf). Click here for more details and to see different size options, or visit our store for expert advice from a Local Self Storage consultant.

  • What unit size do I need?
  • When can I access my storage unit?

    Local Self Storage provides you access to your belongs 24/7. Our State of the Art Security Systems allows you to come and go at your convenience 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

  • What are the office and store hours at Local Self Storage?

    The office and store are open Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm, Saturday from 9am to 3pm. Sunday we are closed. Remember, you always have access to your individual storage units!

  • How long do I have to rent?

    The lease is month-to-month and there is no minimum stay. You can move out at your convenience, when you no longer need our services.

  • Can I reserve a storage unit in advance?

    Yes. At Local Self Storage we will take and hold a reservation for 7 days (based on availability). Click here for details.

  • Can I book my storage unit online?

    New customers can reserve or rent in person, by phone or online. Click here to book online. To finalize the paperwork, obtain a lock and create your security code, you will need to stop by our office.

  • Can I use my own lock?

    Our locks are part of the State of the Art Security System so they must be purchased from us.

  • Does Local Self Storage have any specials?

    Definitely, we are currently offering specials on our outdoor units. Call for details

  • Are there moving carts & dollies for me to use?

    Absolutely. We have many carts and dollies which customers are free to use at any time to make moving items easier.

  • Can I purchase boxes and other packing supplies at Local Self Storage?

    We are pleased to offer a well-stocked store including moving and packing supplies such as boxes, tape, bubble wrap and more. Click here for your full selection.

  • Can I pay for my unit online?
  • Does Local Self Storage accept payment by credit card?

    You may pay using most major credit and debit cards or cheque. Take advantage of our per-authorized credit card payments or direct debit to streamline your monthly payments. No need to worry about monthly payment dates--you'll have it all looked after!

  • Does Local Self Storage offer services for both households and businesses?

    Full services are available for both residential and business customers.

  • What happens if I either outgrow or want to downsize my storage unit at Local Self Storage?

    We will help you find the best size unit for your particular needs, whether larger or smaller, as your needs may change over time. There is no fee to switch storage units at your Local Self-Storage.
